The Local Authority maintains a waiting list for all year groups in line with the school admissions code. If you wish to transfer your child to Blue Coat from another secondary school you will need to request a ‘Transfer Request form’ from your child’s current school. Your child’s current Headteacher will arrange to discuss the reasons for transfer with you.
Once completed transfer request forms should be returned the LA (If you come from outside of Coventry LA, please return your transfer form to your own LA). You may also need to complete the Supplementary Information Form (SIF).
Blue Coat is often above its published admission number in all year groups and as such in-year transfers are not always successful.
If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place your child’s name will automatically be placed on the waiting list, which will remain in operation until the end of the term which you are applying in. If you wish to remain on the waiting list after this time you will need to contact the local authority.
If you child’s name is on the waiting list you can also appeal against the Governors’ decision not to admit your child. If you wish to appeal please contact Mrs Curtis using the information on the Contact Us Page.
Appeals are processed by the Diocesan Board of Education and are completely independent of Blue Coat School.
