Welcome to Blue Coat School!
This page is dedicated to Year 6’s and your transition to Blue Coat School.
No doubt you will have a lot of questions, and so will your parents/carers. Due to the current situation with coronavirus, we are having to do things a little differently this year. We are all having to get used to doing things in ways we are not used to but we are trying to make sure you have the best start to your time at Blue Coat as we possibly can!
We have made some videos for you to help you to learn a bit more about the school, to see around the school site, inside the buildings and you can also meet some of the staff. We know it’s not the same as doing all this in person, but you will hopefully get a flavour of the school ready for when you do join us later in the year.
We have made some videos for you so you can see inside some of the buildings and meet some of the staff. The first video is from Mrs Shelley – to welcome you to Blue Coat School. The links to the videos are below – we hope you enjoy them!
We have a new challenge activity for you! Click on the link below to see what it is! Please send your entries back to us – the email address is in the email we sent to you. Closing date is Friday 10th July. We look forward to seeing your entry!
If you click on the link below, you will see our Transition Activity Booklet. Some of the activities are optional but Section One MUST be completed by ALL Year 6 students. Have a look through the booklet – there’s lots of fun things to get involved with! We can’t wait to see everything you have done when you join us in September!
Below we have some information for Year 6’s and your families. We hope we have covered everything you need to know in the booklet, but if there’s anything you would still like to know, there are also two FAQ’s documents below – one for Year 6’s and one for parents/carers.
We also have an additional booklet specifically written for those children who have a Special Educational Need or Disability. This booklet gives those students more information about the kind of support we offer in school.
