Blue Coat School has a long and rich tradition of charity work led by the student body. Our House Councils have decided to do a Christmas themed non-uniform day to raise funds to be split evenly for Save the Children and Cancer Research.
A list of charities were put before the whole student body by our School Council and students had voted for Cancer Research. As a school we have decided that Save the Children should also benefit from any monies raised, as the Christmas Jumper theme day originates from their fundraising efforts.
Students are asked to contribute £1 to their form tutor on the day and are allowed to wear non-uniform with a Christmas novelty item such as a Christmas hat, jumper, tinsel or a t-shirt.
Alongside the non-uniform day we will also be running an Inter-House Competitive Bake Sale between Monday, 10 to Friday, 14 December.
Any parent wishing to make an independent contribution to these charities can do so by sending a cheque in an envelope clearly marked “PEOPLE”. This can be handed in to reception.
Many thanks in anticipation of a splendid effort.
