Blue Coat Easter Service Celebrated with Special Guests and Civic Recognition

Today, Blue Coat marked its much-loved annual Easter Service with a truly memorable celebration, bringing together students, staff and distinguished guests.

We were honoured to welcome The Very Reverend John Witcombe, Dean of Coventry, who delivered a thoughtful and inspiring sermon. During the service, Lois Whitehouse, CEO of Inspire Education Trust, also shared a heartfelt dedication to the Dean as he prepares to retire on 31 May 2026, recognising his years of service and contribution to the wider Coventry community.

We were delighted to be joined by the Lord Mayor of Coventry and Coventry’s official Lady Godiva, Pru Porretta MBE, a long standing ambassador for the city who has dedicated decades to community work and cultural celebration.

A highlight of the service was Blue Coat receiving the Lord Mayor’s Peace and Reconciliation Award, a civic honour recognising the school’s commitment to promoting peace, unity and community values.

The service was enriched by a range of beautiful musical performances from our school choirs, showcasing the talent and spirit of our students. The service concluded with a blessing from our school chaplain, Luke, bringing a fitting and reflective close to the occasion.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to such a meaningful and uplifting service.
