Year 11 Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Outcomes

Blue Coat students have once again achieved excellent GCSE outcomes in 2026. We are delighted to celebrate the success of our Year 11 cohort, whose results reflect their hard work, resilience and ambition, alongside the dedication of our staff and the continued support of parents and carers.

This academic year, students have sustained strong outcomes across a broad curriculum, with results significantly above national averages:

  • At the very highest grades, students performed exceptionally well. Grade 9s almost doubled from 74 to 160, while Grade 8s rose by 68%, increasing from 151 to 222. Overall, Grades 7–9 increased from 25.6% to 31.3%, a rise of 5.7 percentage points.

  • Across all subjects, students achieved 76.2% Grades 9–4 and 64.7% Grades 9–5.

  • In English and Maths, 52.9% achieved Grade 5 and above, and 69.5% achieved Grade 4 and above, both significantly above historical local and national averages.

We are particularly proud of our highest-achieving students, whose exceptional individual results include:

  • Libby Raistrick achieved 7 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s

  • Isabel Faulkner achieved 7 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7

  • Markus Wong achieved 7 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7 and 2 Grade 6s

  • Marcus Poon achieved 6 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 6

  • Annabelle Baynes Clarke achieved 6 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s

While our highest-achieving students have secured exceptional grades, we are equally proud of the determination, progress and personal success shown across the whole year group. Many students have exceeded their targets, and these outcomes reflect the impact of a Blue Coat education in helping young people to flourish and prepare confidently for the next stage of their journey.
“We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and all that they have achieved. These results are a testament to their hard work, resilience and determination, as well as the excellent teaching, guidance and care provided by our staff. We are grateful too for the support of families, who have played such an important role throughout their journey. Most importantly, our students continue to embody Blue Coat’s vision of ‘living life in all its fullness’ and our CHRIST values in the way they approach their learning and their futures.”

Headteacher, Mrs Lisa Wright

“These excellent outcomes are a wonderful reflection of the commitment, aspiration and determination shown by Blue Coat students, supported by the dedication of staff and families. We are incredibly proud of the achievements of Year 11 and the way in which they continue to flourish, live life in all its fullness and look ahead with confidence to their next steps.”

Lois Whitehouse, CEO of Inspire Education Trust

There was a real sense of celebration as students collected their results and reflected on their achievements. The number of students choosing to continue their education in our Sixth Form remains strong, and we look forward to welcoming both returning and new students in September as they begin the next stage of their journey with us. We wish all of our Year 11 students the very best of luck for the future, and hope they continue to live life in all its fullness and flourish in all they go on to do.
