National Secondary Leaders Network
Blue Coat is proud to be an active member of the National Secondary Leaders Network (NSLN), a national community of Church of England secondary schools that connects and develops school leaders and young people through collaboration, shared learning and pupil leadership. Rooted in the Church of England's Vision for Education, the network champions wisdom, hope, community and dignity, helping schools work together to create flourishing communities where every child can thrive.
In April 2026, Blue Coat had the privilege of hosting a national NSLN event, welcoming young leaders, school leaders, chaplains and education partners from across the country to Coventry. Centred around the theme Inclusive Community: Becoming Beacons in Your Community, the day featured worship, leadership workshops, keynote speakers and student led discussions exploring reconciliation, inclusion, faith and civic action. By bringing together schools from across the country, the event showcased Blue Coat's commitment to developing courageous young leaders, strengthening community partnerships and inspiring pupils to become positive changemakers within their own schools and beyond.
F
ollowing the event, Blue Coat worked in collaboration with the NSLN to produce a special episode of the Flourishing Leaders, Flourishing Systems Podcast, giving students the opportunity to share their experiences and reflections with a national audience. Hosted by Blue Coat student Ezra, the episode features conversations with pupils and education leaders from schools and organisations across the country, exploring themes including pupil leadership, inclusion, wellbeing and community. The podcast highlights the power of listening to young people's voices and demonstrates Blue Coat's commitment to creating opportunities for students to lead meaningful conversations that inspire positive change both within school and beyond.
