Local Governing Body
CHARLOTTE MARTEN
Chair of Blue Coat LGC
I have been a member of Blue Coat’s LGC since February 2022 and have served as Chair of the LGC since September 2022. A retired secondary headteacher, I have forty years’ teaching experience working in both the state and independent sectors. I have ten years’ experience as a school governor. I was elected to the board of the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools in March 2024. I became a member of Inspire’s Trust Board in May 2024. As Chair of Governors, I am responsible for leading governors’ work. This means ensuring that as a team of governors we are offering support and constructive challenge to the school’s senior leadership team. Governors help to make sure that the school is providing the best possible education and pastoral support to its students. As a trustee, I have a special responsibility for inclusion which means that I oversee the work that is going on across the Trust to make sure that all of our children feel that they belong to the school community of which they are a part, that they all can access the curriculum, and make progress.
Blue Coat CofE School is part of Inspire Education Trust. The Governance Structure can be viewed here on the Inspire Education Trust website. Including Attendance Record & Register of Business & Pecuniary Interests.
