In-Year Transfer Applications for Year 7-11 (2024-2025 Academic Year)

The Local Authority maintains a waiting list for all year groups according to the school admissions code. To transfer your child to Blue Coat from another secondary school, you must request a ‘Transfer Request Form’ from your child’s current school. The current Headteacher will discuss the reasons for the transfer with you.

Once completed, transfer request forms should be submitted to the Local Authority (if you are outside Coventry LA, please return the form to your own Local Authority). You may also need to fill out a Supplementary Information Form (SIF).

Due to high demand, Blue Coat frequently exceeds its published admission numbers for all year groups, so in-year transfers are not always possible.

If you are unsuccessful in securing a place, your child’s name will be added to the waiting list, which remains active until the end of the term in which you applied. To stay on the waiting list beyond this period, you will need to contact the Local Authority.

If your child is on the waiting list and you wish to appeal the decision not to admit them, please contact Mrs. Curtis through the ‘Contact Us’ page.

Appeals are handled by the Diocesan Board of Education and are entirely independent of Blue Coat School.
