At our school, we are guided by key publications from the Church of England that shape our educational ethos and practices. These resources provide a framework for fostering a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
Vision for Education (2016): This document outlines the Church of England’s vision for education, emphasizing the importance of fostering the development of every child—spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally. It encourages schools to provide an education that nurtures the whole person and prepares students for a meaningful life.
Collective Worship in Church of England Schools: This guidance emphasizes the significance of collective worship in enriching the spiritual life of our school community. It provides principles for planning and leading worship that inspires and engages students, fostering a sense of community and reflection.
RE Statement of Entitlement for Church Schools: This statement sets out the expectations for Religious Education (RE) in Church of England schools. It ensures that students receive a comprehensive and balanced education in religious studies, promoting understanding, respect, and dialogue among different faiths.
RSHE Principles (CofE Publication): The Relationships, Sex, and Health Education (RSHE) principles guide how schools approach these crucial topics. SIAMS Evaluation Schedule (2018): The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) evaluation schedule provides criteria for assessing the effectiveness of Church schools. Valuing All God’s Children Report (2017): This report addresses issues of equality and inclusivity within Church schools.
